05 Mar “Store of the Year 2019” will be presented in Bratislava
The Retail Innovations Conference 2020 will introduce an engaging program and several attractive key note speakers. A strong magnet will be Markku Hautala, head of the K-Citymarket Järvenpää supermarket in Finland, holder of the “Store Of The Year 2019” award.
On 7 November 2019, a unique IGD World Award was awarded in London: “Store Of The Year 2019” under the auspices of EMS – European Supermarket Magazine. From a total of over 900 supermarkets from around the world, the jury selected a shortlist of 9 nominated stores from the US, Finland, UK, Brazil, Ireland and Switzerland. It then chose the winner, the unique K-Citymarket, belonging to the Finnish group Kesko Food Ltd.
“K-Citymarket has pushed the boundaries of a modern food store not by gradual changes, but literally by leaps and bounds. It blurs the boundaries between different formats and different services. This local store is literally ´a darling´ for its customers. Markku Hautala’s performance is really worth coming to see “describes enthusiastically co-founder of the conference Tibor Tabery.
